The economic participation rate of urban women in labor market in Iran

The purpose of this study is to measure the factors affecting urban women’s participation in labor market in Iran. The results of presented model in this study indicate that level of education is the most important factor affecting the probability of urban women’s participation in Iran labor market. Increasing the cooperation of women with higher education in coming years can increase urban women participation. Rising age of marriage and increasing the proportion of single girls to the whole population are the second affecting factors in women’s participation. Decreasing purchasing power and change in the age structure of population are the other factors. On the other hand, increasing unemployment rate is the most important parameter in decreasing urban women’s participation.
